Solutions Engineer, Higher Education (English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical sales or technical work.
  • Experience with software as a service and web technologies.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in English with local stakeholders as its for higher education sales.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in sales engineering/technical consultancy.
  • Experience architecting and supporting deployment of device management, collaboration, or other end user computing solutions.
  • Experience in architecting cloud based analytics systems, and dash-boarding experiences.
  • Knowledge of web and related technologies (e.g., HTTP, Basic/NTLM, cookies/sessions, XML/HTML), including web application development, integration, and session management.
  • Understanding of Google for Education products with the knowledge of implementing them in an education environment.

Over the past years, over 90 million students, educators and administrators have “Gone Google” with Chromebooks, Workspace for Education, and Classroom. The Google for Education team guided that success through indirect sales, partnerships and innovative community development.

As a Solutions Engineer for Education, you will immerse yourself in the needs and challenges facing some of our largest customers and prospects in the US, and help craft the technical solution that will enable them to Go Google.

Our Customer and Partner Engineering team is critical in positioning Workspace and Chrome solutions to meet customers’ business objectives, navigating technical considerations, and activating the technical sales/services capabilities of our Channel and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). We help prospective and existing customers and resellers to understand the power of Google’s portfolio, explaining technical features, and problem-solving key technical issues.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify customer business requirements, create and develop solutions which address customer requirements and bring Google’s innovation into their school infrastructures.
  • Promote Google Workspace for Education editions, Chromebooks, and other Google technologies, in both customer-facing meetings or public events.
  • Work closely with our Product, Support, Engineering, and Sales teams to stay on top of industry trends, and devise enhancements for Google for Education products.
  • Prepare and present demonstrations of Google products, and address technical questions that arise throughout the business process.
  • Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include activities such as bid responses, product and solution briefings, partner training, proof-of-concept work and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
