Strategic Partnership Manager, YouTube, Top Partners (English, Japanese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires communicating with clients and stakeholders locally and internationally.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Understanding of online advertising (i.e., ad serving, networks, and key platforms) and trends (i.e., desktop, mobile, video, news, publishing and broadcasting industry).
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

About the job

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As YouTube's Strategic Partnerships Manager (SPM), you will be responsible for achieving YouTube's content and product adoption objectives. You will inspire, educate, and collaborate with partners to enhance their understanding of how YouTube's tools and platforms can expand their audience reach.

In this role, you will sit in a scaled partnership team and work as a team to provide the creators the best experience in a scaled manner, while each SPM is assigned to a portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage creators and companies.
  • Empower partners achieve their goals by providing consultative support across various topics including content strategy, branding and business skills, monetization, YouTube product features, etc.
  • Design and execute communication strategies with partners, engaging them effectively through various formats ranging from 1:1 calls to 1:150 scaled workshops to maximize the impact.
  • Pitch and support adoption of product features such as shopping, brand promotions, etc. that are YouTube organization's priority, and serve towards partner's channel growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on market development initiatives including GTM, Partner support, Engineering, Marketing, Product, PR, etc.
