Technical Program Manager, Efficiency Metrics

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Understanding of the areas of opportunity and metrics/challenges in utilization and efficiency of the infrastructure.
  • Excellent program management skills, with the ability to successfully drive and land complex cross-functional programs, in the area of compute, storage, and ML hardware/software resource efficiency programs for the data center.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large programs within efficiency with a strong focus on metrics, that deliver towards measurable impact and a more efficient use of resources in the Google fleet, and deliver towards Google's 2030 sustainability goals.
  • Develop processes and tools, in partnership with the Engineering and Data Science teams, to measure top-level metrics for the portfolio of efficiency and sustainability initiatives in AI2.
  • Partner with finance and key stakeholders in areas adjacent to efficiency to build robust and auditable mechanisms to track and report impact at the company level, scaling the existing processes we have today.
