Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 20 years of experience leading software engineers across multiple geographies with a focus on networking and storage platforms, load balancing, routing, scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Experience with various infrastructure systems, the scope and impact of the systems, and the underlying technology.
Preferred qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience successfully building software and large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience delivering successfully within demanding timelines.
- Foundation in design, data structures, and algorithms, with customer-facing products experience.
- Understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, scalable storage solutions, software defined networking, and networking security.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, problem solving, and debugging skills, along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

As Engineering Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and operational management for a diverse portfolio of critical products and infrastructure across the Cloud Networking and Storage teams. You will foster an engineering culture with successful delivery of networking and storage products, and supporting their successful adoption by customers in the Greater China Region (GCR) and Southeast Asia (SEA) region. These products and services drive planet scale networking and storage, enabling the next generation of AI workloads spanning GCP and partner ecosystems.
In this role, you will utilize an understanding of networking and storage platforms and lead executive managers, while being fully accountable for the strategic evolution of the platform, the organizational evolution of the team including hiring and performance management, the cost and efficiency of the services comprising this platform, and customer success.

Responsibilities
- Be responsible for developing software infrastructure for networking and storage products to enable Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Build a center of excellence, fostering an engineering culture and ensuring the successful delivery and evolution of key cloud services and platforms.
- Work with executive leadership, product, and system managers and Technical Leads across the Cloud infrastructure and services team, and with Site Reliability Engineering leaders owning these products and services.
- Understand and learn the various infrastructure systems, the scope and impact of these systems, and the underlying technology.
- Understand and evaluate the scalability and reliability to ensure the technical leads are always a step ahead of customer demands.
