Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 8 years with advanced degree.
  • Experience in Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, Geospatial or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, JD or other relevant graduate degree.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing strategic partnerships in the technology industry across the consumer and enterprise businesses.
  • Ability to balance multiple high-priority initiatives and lead multiple time-sensitive partnerships/projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision, operating with an entrepreneurial, open-minded, collaborative,and committed approach to business.
  • Excellent strategic acumen and analytical skills, with strong attention-to-detail, and the ability to manage ambiguity and a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to form and articulate contractual,technical,financial and strategic value points and strategic trade-offs with partners and internal teams.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

As a part of the Knowledge and Information (K&I) Partnerships team, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing partnerships that help build, differentiate, and scale Google's products across Ads, Search, Gemini, Social Impact, Geo, Real World Journeys, Commerce, and Research and Core. Your mission is to create healthy ecosystems that bring sustainable value to Google by building product partnerships that enable cohesive, helpful, and user journeys.

As a Business Development Manager for Geo partnerships, you will work directly with cross-functional team members and key leaders, both internally and with partners, on critical projects that drive partnerships at the intersection of Geo's Consumer and Developer product and services. You will lead strategic negotiations with key partners that help build or scale products/feature, drive users/usage of Maps and generate business to the organization. You will drive business-critical projects from beginning to end, manage the relationships with strategic partners, and develop an insightful perspective on the latest industry trends and market opportunities. You will provide coaching to team members, share thought-leadership and help drive impact via relationships with partnership peers across K&IP and GP.The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$256,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage product-enabling partnerships for products and services across Geo, including complex, first-of-its-kind commercial and integration agreements with high touch partners, including, but not limited to content licensing, solution sales and product integrations.
  • Develop and execute partnerships strategies for enabling new product launches, including partnerships that may require amendments to standard terms and creative incentives (e.g., commercial, co-marketing).
  • Collaborate with Product peers to incubate new products and features, improve existing product offerings via ecosystem insights and identify partner opportunities.
  • Identify scalable processes and solutions to drive scaled impact and manage a set of partners on an on-going basis from identification through post agreements.
  • Serve as the lead and own co-ordination with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance) and other global and regional Business Development teams (e.g. Search, Commerce, Real World Journeys).
