The Gemini in Chrome team is reimagining what a browser can be by integrating the world's most powerful AI models directly into the world’s most popular browser. Our mission is to deliver AI assistance natively within the browser, helping users get key takeaways, clarify concepts, and find answers based on the context of their open tabs. As a UX Designer on this team, you will design the next generation of web interfaces, moving beyond static pages to an agentic and AI-powered browsing experience.

AI is transforming the way we browse the internet, and the Gemini in Chrome team is looking for a talented UX Designer to help shape that future. In this role, you will partner with fellow designers, product managers, and engineers to ideate, iterate, and implement innovative features. You will join an exceptional team of designers and researchers dedicated to solving complex problems for billions of users worldwide.

We’re focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way.Chrome is available across all major platforms — iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Help define the design language for Gemini within the Chrome desktop browser, ensuring every detail meets a high standard of visual and functional excellence. Design for non-deterministic outcomes and help establish trust between the user and AI.
  • Collaborate with design leads to drive the design process from initial concept to final spec delivery. Implement a variety of design skills along the way, from wireframing to prototyping to high-fidelity mockups.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and a variety of UX disciplines to understand business, technical, and brand requirements and find ways to design around them.
  • Present your designs to cross-functional stakeholders and design leads with strong articulation of design rationale. Understand and implement feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement your designs to spec, test what they’ve built, and file bugs as needed.
