Apps Growth Consultant, Google Play Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in a design, product management, or operations role at a mobile apps company.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a product management or business operations role at a mobile app developer.
  • Experience using SQL to retrieve data from large data warehouses.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: product strategy and roadmap development, app business generation, user engagement, or CRM and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to communicate in English and additional local market language fluently in order to engage with local clients and partners.

The Global Business Consulting (GBC) team identifies growth opportunities in strategic partners’ products, markets, and improvement opportunities in user experience and quality. Apps Consulting as part of GBC focuses on strategic consultations enabling app developers to identify optimum strategies for business generation, user acquisition and engagement, unit economics, subscriptions, and more.

Members of the Apps Consulting team are equal parts consultants, analysts, and product managers comfortable leveraging our domain expertise to transform data into information, and narrate and present the insights to partners’ product, marketing, data teams, and executives.

As an Apps Growth Consultant, you will help strategic partners to build and grow successful mobile businesses on Google Play. You will collaborate with cross-functional team members to elevate developers' knowledge, thereby enabling product improvements which enhance value for users and drive sustainable business growth.

In this role, you will identify meaningful growth opportunities and guide adoption of the optimum solution which remedies the deficiency or capitalizes on the opportunity for the partners’ products. Additionally, you will impact the global apps ecosystem by abstracting solutions into reusable strategies and methodologies, leveraging these consulting resources to enhance developer sophistication and ecosystem health.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the performance of strategic partners' apps to identify areas for optimization and growth.
  • Create and deliver insights which communicate growth opportunities to Google Play and partner-side product, analytics, and executive leadership.
  • Provide thought leadership through the creation and delivery of original strategy consulting materials enabling optimal capitalization on growth opportunities.
  • Partner with developers during extended consulting engagements to assist with designing, executing, iterating, and quantifying the impact of product improvements.
  • Consolidate category insights and trends into strategic guidance materials that benefit the wider developer ecosystem.
