Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in CMF design, showing concept, strategy, product development and execution, with the ability to own multiple programs end-to-end.
- Experience in digital rendering such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Keyshot.
- Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in CMF manufacturing processes, vendor communication and material development to bring the design goal to life.
- Experience in design (proportions, color, form, typography, presentation) and an intuitive feel for design (culture, functionality, fashion, ergonomics, trends, history).
- Experience in color acuity within multiple materials.
- Ability to work on their own as well as within a mixed team environment.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to enable collaboration, problem-solving, stakeholder presentations and critical iterations based on collective feedback
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think for creative solutions.

As a member of a fast-paced industrial design team, you will be responsible for defining what it is like to hold Google in your hands. You will understand trends and consumer mindsets. You will design how a product should make us feel and tell an authentic story.As a Color, Materials, Finish (CMF) Designer, you will contribute beyond your product category and connect your work to the broader portfolio strategy. You will understand that collaboration is key to a successful product design. You will work closely with work partners to achieve product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Complete multiple programs under the guidance of Senior CMF Designers to develop design directions from early concept throughout production.
- Participate in design trends and market research to understand the wants, needs, and opportunities for innovation in a project.
- Contribute to the evolving design culture and process in the design studio.
- Create high quality presentation materials (digital and physical) that communicate the design intent at any phase in a project and present design concepts to internal teams and executives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define what a successful product launch could look like.
