Regional Operations Manager, Trust and Safety, Compute

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience working with SQL, Colaboratory, Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Technology, Product Policy, Trust and Safety or related fields.
  • Experience in crafting narratives to influence internal and external stakeholders, as well as presenting to C-Level executives in the organization.
  • Knowledge of content moderation, DevOps, policy enforcement, customer support or policy creation.
  • Ability to solve operational or policy issues, working closely with various cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy concepts.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

The Trust and Safety Compute team prioritizes user experience, promotes developer success through consistency and trust, and makes the mobile experience the safest it can be across Play, Android and Chrome Web store.

In this role, you will aim to build trust and minimize friction with trusted developers, while also mitigating ecosystem risks. You will do this through speedy resolution of developer issues, proactive education, identifying sensitive risk areas and incorporating local context into policy decisions.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the resolutions of various policy related issues for T&S Play and Android Operations.
  • Lead trust and safety (T&S) and Google Play-wide policy launches and trust and safety initiatives in the region to ensure a safe app experience.
  • Manage sensitive escalations, and drive process improvement to mitigate the future risks, working with stakeholders across Play Partnerships, Policy, Operations, Engineering, Product, Government Affairs and Legal teams.
  • Drive cross-functional projects collaborating with teams across various regions to land foundational improvement to our policies and enforcement processes. 
  • Represent your region to solicit stakeholder feedback for Google Play Policies and Operations, identify emerging risks and build long-term prevention strategies and drive scalable policy education for developers in your region and consistently improve the brand and reputation of Google Play.
