Partnership Lead, Merchant Engagement

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the retail/merchandising space.
  • Experience working with or within national retailers, vendors, and brands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of discounting, circulars, and in store end cap signage.
  • Ability to build/execute a go-to-market strategy with clear KPIs and milestones, including understanding of how to align cross-functional resources to a common goal.
  • Ability to analyze data, understand the core measurement strategies for merchandising teams, and derive actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies used by merchants to drive category sales growth and market share.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, focusing on educating merchants and vendors to drive action.

Using your relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

In this role, you will leverage your understanding of retail merchandising strategies to drive Google product adoption, relationship development and business growth for our advertisers through innovative advertising solutions, namely focused on Retail Media and Merchant Marketing strategies.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams and advertisers across multiple markets to understand merchants, including their incentives, current strategies to drive sales, and how to integrate Google solutions into their businesses.
  • Help bridge the gap between Google merchant-friendly ad products (namely Retail Media and Merchant Marketing) and the merchant community.
  • Educate and pitch directly to executive merchandising leaders at Canadian organizations on the wisdom of adopting Google solutions, partnering with Google Account teams.
  • Build out a framework and go-to market plan for how new to retail media advertisers can stand up to retail media organizations within their organizations, and intermediate/advanced retail media organizations can scale Google selling strategies to their retail media sales teams/agencies.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal account teams and cross-functional partners ensuring successful implementation and ongoing support of Google's retail media solutions.
