Private Equity Key Account Executive, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or strategic account management at a B2B software company.
  • Experience selling to enterprise accounts, and a portfolio of products or solutions at the C-level.
  • Experience working with Independent Software Vendors (ISV).
  • Experience with account executives, and running a Private Equity (PE) Firm with a Financial Framework Agreement.
  • Experience cultivating and maintaining C-level relationships, and influencing the executive level across multiple industries, of an individual PEs portfolio of companies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in public cloud solutions across SaaS, IaaS and PaaS markets.
  • Ability to articulate cloud value proposition.

About the job

As a Private Equity Key Account Executive, you will own and lead the Google relationship with a small set of the world’s leading Private Equity firms. You are actively putting in place, an umbrella financial agreement for the companies they own or have a significant stake in (portfolio companies). You will be working with these firms and their portfolio companies to drive awareness, adoption and customer success of Google Cloud services. You will own the playbooks that define Private Equity Engagement model, monitor and share best practices, and be the expert on global programs and offerings that Google can leverage for the investor partners.

You will collaborate with cross-functional peers internally (Sales, Strategy and Operations, Strategic Pursuits, Customer Engineering, Marketing and Partnership Solutions teams) to develop a strategy for the selected Private Equity relationships and their portfolio companies. You will leverage your relationships as well as public and proprietary data sources to stay abreast of portfolio developments and leverage that information to guide Google Cloud strategies for portfolio companies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own Google Cloud's relationship with two priority Private Equity (PE) firms. Initiate new qualified pipeline and maximize conversion of existing opportunities.
  • Build executive relationships with stakeholders to influence long-term business decisions. Add value as a transformation partner by mobilizing the PE playbooks for priority portfolio companies. 
  • Build and execute a PE and portfolio company engagement strategy, including determining the cadence and mix of engagements, determine topics in alignment with Cloud priorities, identify and secure Cloud participants for these engagements.
  • Build awareness of Google Cloud services and offerings across PE partnerships, work cross -functionally to maximize business impact.
  • Lead check-ins with contacts at PE firms to identify priority opportunities and define mutual performance targets. Drive ongoing governance (executive engagement, portfolio-level QBRs, etc.) to grow the partnership while working with Google stakeholders to support Cloud's Go-to-Market strategy.
