Privacy Engineer III, Policy and Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience designing solutions that maintain or enhance the privacy posture of the organization by analyzing and assessing proposed engineering designs (e.g., product features, infrastructure systems) and influencing stakeholders.
  • 2 years of experience applying privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.), and customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet organizational needs.
  • Coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, C++, Python, Kotlin or Rust.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple high-priority requests, while determining resource allocation (e.g., time, prioritization) to solve the problems in a fast-paced, changing organization.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in application, library or platform development on Android.
  • Knowledge of common regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Familiarity with multiple technical privacy topics, such as encryption, permissions, anonymization, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and lead implementation of privacy-enhancing solutions alongside engineering teams.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessment of a single product component, and determine how to bridge between data regulations, governance and practical engineering practices, policy practices.
  • Develop, maintain and publish design or technical documentation to drive consistency in privacy decisions and practices.
  • Focus on engineering privacy enhancing features and infrastructure for Android.
  • Guide engineering teams during product development to ensure that their data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy, and mitigate risk.
