Google's User Protection practice focuses on solutions to meet evolving user safety needs. One of our most critical and sensitive missions is Egregrious Harms Protections (EHP) safeguarding children and adults from the most injurious forms of abuse. EHP builds resilient, cross-product solutions that address these harms across multiple accounts and ensure protection continuity in an AI-driven threat landscape. The team maintains comprehensive state on current and emerging threats, creates tailored and AI-sustainable protections, drives regulatory compliance in an industry-leading role, and partners with organizations and agencies to combat harms in both the online and physical worlds.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for the end-to-end execution of individual programs within the EHP portfolio, encompassing their structure, planning, oversight, and delivery to ensure the development of timely security protections. Additionally, this role involves a crucial partnership with Engineering and Product leads to advance the EHP practice by contributing to its strategy, prioritization, resource allocation, governance, partner management, and communications.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define, manage, and guide a portfolio encompassing software development, threat reduction, and regulatory compliance work, ensuring all programs align with coherent engineering and product strategies to achieve business impact.
  • Hold direct responsibility for the planning and execution of specific programs within the portfolio, driving timely delivery, fostering efficient collaboration, and ensuring clear accountability across company-wide networks.
  • Implement and lead a governance structure and reliable cadence for executive decision-making, program reviews, prioritization, and efficient Resource Stewardship (including machine and people resources), while effectively exposing and mitigating dependencies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication standards across the program portfolio, including tailored communications for executives and key partners, to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Identify and implement change management opportunities that increase program velocity and enhance efficiency and utilization across multiple teams and the broader organization.
