Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
  • 5 years of experience managing a data science team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 9 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
  • 4 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with reporting, dashboarding, and BI.

As a Data Science Manager, you won't just manage—you'll inspire. You'll stand at the core of our data-driven decisions, using insights to create learning experiences that genuinely delight our users.

You'll mentor and empower a brilliant team of data scientists, engineers, and product managers. You will foster a culture of growth, helping each team member develop their skills and reach their full potential.

You'll uncover which levers, and in what combinations, create the most significant impact for the business. You will provide strategic and operational insights that improve these levers and refine our learning experiences.

You'll turn complex business questions into actionable analytical projects. Your work will directly improve sales efficiency, effectiveness, and overall business outcomes.

You'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring your team's work is directly integrated into key business decisions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of analytical projects, dashboards, data science models, and insights across our business.
  • Use advanced statistical analysis to measure the impact of business initiatives, and identify opportunities to increase effectiveness through these levers.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and data scientists, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the team is delivering on the most impactful initiatives, be transparent with prioritization and delivery, and influence stakeholders through effective communication.
  • Drive excellence within the broader team's analytical and data science capabilities, driving the development of best practice and cutting-edge solutions to address complex business challenges.
