Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Intern, 2025

This internship is for applicants in their Bachelor's program in Computer Science or a related technical field, with an anticipated graduation from Dec 2026 to 2027, depending on their program and unique circumstances.

Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis and it is encouraged to apply early. The anticipated application window is open until Dec 4th, 2024, but may close earlier if all available projects are full. Applications submitted after the application window or once role is closed/projects are full will not be considered.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program, majoring or intending to major in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in Computer Science.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Programming experience in either Java, Python, C, or C++.
  • Ability to complete an internship program of 10-12 weeks.

About the job

This internship is intended for students enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Computer Science or a related field. This program includes three main components: a software project, skills-based training, and professional development. This summer trainee program includes:

  • Software Project: A development project that you will work on with a team of Googlers and other STEP Interns.
  • Skills-Based Training: Enhance your coding skills, and gain exposure to new tools and programming languages.
  • Professional Development: Attend ongoing technical talks by senior Googlers. Additionally, learn how to enhance your resume, approach technical interviews, and improve your presentation skills.
  • Mentorship: Be matched with a Google Engineer, other than your manager, to guide you through your summer experience.
  • Fun: Engage in social activities, community building and networking. Build relationships with your peers.
  • Exposure: Gain a unique glimpse into applying your Computer Science studies in a professional environment.
