Security Program Specialist

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in corporate security, industrial security, or a related field.
  • Experience working in and leading security in a Facility Security Clearance (FSC) environment or role.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience acting as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) or Company Security Officer (CSO).
  • Experience facilitating and conducting Document Safeguarding Capability (DSC) inspections.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian government compliance regimes such as the PSPC CSP, CGP, and International Bilateral Security Instruments.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage high-volume clearance processing with effective attention-to-detail.
  • Excellent relationship management skills for interfacing with government and client security offices.

About the job

As a part of the CISO Risk and Compliance organization, the Cloud CISO Public Sector team supports Google Cloud by managing risks, ensuring accountability, defining and enforcing compliance standards, monitoring controls, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet evolving security, privacy and compliance requirements.

In this role, you will be a key player in a fast-growing team focused on delivering protective security for Google Cloud Public Sector. You will work cross-functionally to co-ordinate, manage, and facilitate protective security programs across Google Cloud as well as finding innovative solutions to develop efficient compliance processes. You will also work with customers on a range of government projects, providing knowledge and expertise on government security and compliance.

You will act as a critical enabler for the business, managing the regulatory requirements. Your work ensures that our workforce is cleared, our facilities are accredited, and our ability to access customer sites remains uninterrupted. You will provide the mandatory separation of duties required by government policy, ensuring our operations remain beyond reproach.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 162,000-166,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard Google’s physical assets, personnel, and sensitive information by implementing facilities and communication security measures.
  • Maintain Google’s standing with the Public Services and Procurement Canada Contract Security Program (PSPC CSP) and other compliance regimes.
  • Analyze Security Requirements Check Lists (SRCL) and contractual security clauses to translate regulatory requirements into operational actions for the business.
  • Validate physical security zones and process Visit Clearance Requests (VCRs) to ensure technicians and developers can enter client sites.
  • Facilitate government inspections and maintain site security orders to maintain and ensure ongoing compliance.
