Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams.
  • Experience in product strategy function or directly supporting product strategy, specifically in evaluating and advancing new product concepts from ideation to prototype and ultimately to market.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The Product Strategy and Operations team (A&C PSO) is a critical partner to Ads and Commerce Product and Engineering leadership in developing and supporting the execution of a multi-year strategy for our portfolio of products. We support Ads and Commerce product areas in setting and delivering long-term goals and strategies. Through strong cross-product partnerships, we identify areas to collaborate, then apply objective perspective, business logic and investigative dynamism to uncover insights, inform strategic decisions, and navigate industry sea changes. We also support the design and implementation of lightweight governance mechanisms and management systems. Our objective is to empower leaders to make high-quality and timely decisions while ensuring resources flow to the highest impact areas with minimal friction.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide data-driven strategic recommendations to leadership, based on strategic insights, analysis, experience, technical acumen and business acumen.
  • Use analytical skills to navigate external data sources, articulate hypotheses, build models and synthesize findings into business implications; develop recommendations and communicate findings to Ads & Commerce leadership.
  • Evaluate and advance innovative concepts from 0 to 1 (including sourcing ideas, building prototypes, etc.)
  • Self-direct work with the ability to grow in an unstructured environment and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization, partnering with Product, Finance, Data Science and other teams on a variety of growth-focused projects.
