Program Manager, Compliance, Submarine Cable

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience working within a compliance function or working with a telecommunications regulator.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and managing policies, procedures, and processes for establishing compliance oversight, responding to incidents of non-compliance.
  • Experience managing several projects of varying complexity and scope.
  • Familiarity with undersea cables, cable stations, and infrastructure investments.
  • Familiarity with physical and cyber security measures for telecommunications and methods for auditing the implementation.
  • Ability to work across internal and external teams on initiatives aimed at improving performance and quality, while ensuring compliance internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in geographically diverse areas.

About the job

The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) team's primary mission is to build, operate, promote, and manage Google's extensive global subsea cable assets. The Regulatory Compliance team contributes to this mission by ensuring that GSN is fully cognizant of all regulatory risks associated with the global subsea network. Furthermore, this team takes proactive measures to mitigate these risks and provide assurance to GSN's internal and external stakeholders that GSN consistently adheres to its subsea cable regulatory compliance obligations.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are a diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage several team projects of varying complexity and scope. Drive project delivery, challenge proposals, and build consensus.
  • Collaborate with GSN, Legal, and others in the preparation and submission of regulatory applications and compliance obligations globally.
  • Analyze, summarize, and publish compliance obligation documents and develop accompanying training materials.
  • Develop processes for establishing compliance oversight, responding to incidents of non-compliance, and answering scheduled and unscheduled queries from regulators.
  • Work across internal and external teams on initiatives aimed at improving performance and quality, while ensuring compliance internally and externally.
