  • Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) or equivalent agency.
  • 7 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team EHS programs.
  • Experience in data center or electrical safety.
  • Experience in communicating with AHJs (e.g., federal, state, and local authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a member of the Compliance, Strategy, and Risk Management (CSRM) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program for our global Data Centers and Technical Infrastructure assets. You will oversee critical areas including EHS management systems, environmental and safety compliance, and regional site health conformance. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors to identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. You will be protecting our workforce, the environment, and Google’s business operations and will provide expert guidance on new EHS initiatives, driving the continuous improvement and iteration of our safety standards.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the full life-cycle of EHS programs, driving impactful operational and technical improvements that may extend across broader organizational teams.
  • Anticipate issues, propose solutions, and identify needs to develop or improve EHS Operations (Ops) tools/processes. Evaluate incident data and track corrective actions.
  • Evaluate EHS impact during data center design reviews, equipment, and process changes. Perform EHS risk evaluations and define process controls for new processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) compliance, manage permits/key performance indicators. Provide site ownership and drive EHS turn-up of new locations with little supervision, demonstrating complete campus EHS ownership.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, managing dependencies. Own site-based EHS decision-making and serve as a recognized subject matter expert (SME) in multiple EHS verticals.
