Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience at a streaming service or in broadcast media digital distribution.
- 7 years of experience in system design and network architecture.
- Experience with video encoding and content metadata.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with streaming protocols, video processing, compliance, and high scale live event/linear streaming.
- Experience in cloud environments, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience in system integration and network architecture design.
- Understanding of enterprise-wide software architecture, including scalability, security, and resilience.
- Ability to lead technical teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Ability to develop long-term technical roadmaps and advise on technology investments.

The OTT Live Acquisition Engineering team's mission centers around building a future-proof global video platform. They do this by developing and integrating exceptional tools and services to ensure the most reliable and resilient signal acquisition, media processing and delivery to ensure the highest quality viewing experience for consumers of premium OTT content over YouTube products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$263,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Architect a high-performance video ingestion platform, ensuring system resiliency, quality, and scalability.
- Modernize and transform legacy broadcast systems with advanced software, IP transport and cloud-native solutions.
- Own the business outcomes associated with optimizing quality, latency and platform performance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to technical platform development and strategic planning.
- Represent Google in industry standards groups and partner with content companies, driving adoption of new media formats and transport protocols.
