Advanced Energy Market Innovation Lead, Program Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in the electricity sector, clean energy, and energy markets and policy.
  • Experience in a core related area, such as energy and climate policy or global decarbonization pathways and approaches.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience forming strategic opinions and insights, then translating and presenting these into recommendations for audiences, including C-suite executives.
  • Experience in cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Experience translating key information and using data to drive impactful decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google's Advanced Energy team plays a critical role in supporting the company's AI growth by pioneering new energy solutions. The team's mission is to develop technologies and strategies for Google's global data center energy needs. The team collaborates with partner teams to bring these innovative solutions to commercial scale, addressing both energy supply and demand challenges.

As the Advanced Energy Market Innovation Lead, you'll be at the forefront of developing solutions to market challenges. You will also work with internal and external partners, drive research and analysis, and design new market structures and market design solutions .

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and development of market innovation for advanced energy solutions across global data center portfolio.
  • Develop and oversee research and thought leadership that supports energy technology ideas for data centers worldwide.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to develop and execute research, policy, and market initiatives with a focus on generating new ideas and bringing them to scale.
