The team does this by identifying and assessing risks, setting requirements and obligations, designing and assessing controls, and doing this all through appropriate governance to provide visibility and reporting to key stakeholders. R&C also manages supplier risk (third-party risk management) of its contingent workforce by auditing and testing suppliers to expectations and policies, assessing escalations and risk events involving suppliers, and enforcing through consequence management the necessary remedial steps to protect Alphabet against legal, regulatory and operational risk.

The team in India ensures that our centralized Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) R&C program (Compliance, Controls, Governance, Risk, and Monitoring) is implemented and working in India and APAC region. In this role, you will be expected to manage a small team in the country and be connected with local xWS partners, local compliance and risk teams across the Alphabet, and local business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Risk and compliance team members on a small team of local team members in the country.
  • Support and implement our centralized R&C program for our APAC region.
  • Align with local xWS, risk and compliance, audit and other teams as necessary to understand local risks for escalation, reporting and remediation.
  • Be aware of and integrate local/regional risk trends and topics, benchmark competitor programs for best practices, and escalate through appropriate channels to keep Alphabet ahead of risks and threats in the region.
  • Move with urgency to mitigate risks that present the greatest risks to the company (e.g., operational, reputational, regulatory, financial, legal).
