Account Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa Market, Large Customer Sales

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in advertising sales, marketing, consulting, media, or working with advertising agencies in the Sub-Saharan African market (specifically Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in business development, client relationship and servicing, and consultative selling.
  • Experience in online business, sales, advertising, marketing, or business development.
  • Ability to strategically assess and solve client needs via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling, and selling.
  • Ability to connect with relevant teams and colleagues seamlessly and proactively.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and varying deadlines.

Consulting with a wide variety of existing advertising companies of all sizes, you are committed to finding the optimal advertising solution for each client. Your interest in sales and the digital economy and your entrepreneurial drive enables brands to expand their businesses with Google's latest advertising products and solutions. The Sub-Saharan African (SSA) Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Mid-Market Sales (MMS) team is a critical growth engine for the clients in our segment. Through long-term relationship development, we are dedicated to understanding the business goals of this segment and providing the best Google advertising solutions to drive business success. We are responsible for growing advertising business by educating, solution selling, and consulting with clients directly.

Our Google Customer Solutions (GCS) team of entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and client-focused members are the "human face" of Google, helping entrepreneurs both individually and broadly build their online presence and grow their businesses. We are dedicated to growing the unique needs of advertising companies. Our teams of strategists, analysts, advisers and support specialists collaborate closely to spot and analyze customer needs and trends. In collaboration, we create and implement business plans broadly for all types of businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Grow advertising cross-channel business through clear, data-driven POVs and recommendations that align with customer business objectives.
  • Partner with fellow account team members to drive business opportunities that build long-term growth.
  • Work towards goals while prioritizing and delivering an excellent experience to Google's customers.
  • Collaborate and consult with customers and their agencies with the goal of extending relationships, growing the customer, and optimizing their advertising.
  • Analyze data trends and consumer insights to develop solid strategic plans and prepare compelling narratives to drive growth.
