UX Designer, Payments

Minimum qualifications:

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

We are the Consumer Payments team that is building the future of online transactions. The mission is to bring the best payment solution for users, merchants, and financial institutions by simplifying, securing, and rewarding every interaction. We work on high-impact products like Agentic payment, Autofill and the Google Pay Application Programming Interface (API) button that touch millions of users through third-party ecosystem.

In this role, you will craft seamless experiences across both desktop and mobile platforms. You have a deep understanding of design systems, a mix skills of interaction design and visual craft, and a genuine love for collaborating with a dedicated team!

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end user flow, go deep into defined use cases, and support the team in bringing new features to life, from early concepts through to a successful launch.
  • Extend the design system, contribute to its growth by defining and building. Apply scalable, reusable patterns across all the platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with a passionate team of designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to transform complex challenges into elegant, user-centered solutions.
  • Create a variety of design artifacts, including mockups, prototypes, and user flows, to help the team visualize and communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Help maintain the high standards for design quality by incorporating user feedback and research into design iterations.
