The Pixel High Dynamic Range (HDR) team is dedicated to providing advanced Pixel camera quality by utilizing advanced imaging systems and algorithms that encompass machine learning, generative AI, and computational photography. Our comprehensive responsibilities cover the entire imaging pipeline starting from sensor raw data through to the completed image focusing in image quality optimization, new feature development, on-device optimization and development tooling. We work in close cross-functional partnership with the Research, Silicon, Product, and UX teams. These collaborations facilitate the implementation of innovative hardware technologies and play a critical role in shaping the roadmaps for future Google Tensor SOCs and Pixel hardware. Our ultimate objective is to uphold the Pixel brand's reputation for pioneering camera excellence, continually advancing mobile photography to provide users with an exceptional imaging experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the imaging algorithm and solution for HDR, and mobile imaging pipelines running on the Pixel camera.
  • Participate in system design and delivery of end-to-end software-based imaging pipelines optimized for Pixel devices.
  • Apply C++ programming skills or machine learning knowledge to computational photography issues.
  • Be familiar with image quality goals and tuning processes to support Pixel camera launches.
  • Prototype, evaluate, and productize research papers in computational photography, computer vision, graphics, and generative AI.
