Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in NFC.
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative, and troubleshooting skills.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a radio technology that is used by millions of users daily for making digital payments, proximity uses like "Tap to Share", etc. We are building the NFC software stack for Android in collaboration with various Android OEMs, NFC chip vendors and apps (payment apps like Google wallet) for delivering best in class user experiences for NFC technology usage.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain Android NFC stack for both 1P and 3P devices.
  • Collaborate with both internal, external and partner teams to refine and define the NFC stack and scale it to the industry.
  • Help build the next generation of NFC APIs and libraries for first-party and third-party developers.
  • Improve wallet/payment critical user journeys in the Android ecosystem that use NFC.
  • Partner and collaborate with related engineering teams, product management, and program management to ensure the development of high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
