Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience with Big Data technologies or concepts, such as analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, business intelligence, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance or scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.
  • 7 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • 7 years of experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • .

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in writing code in a common development languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, Scala, R or Go.
  • 10 years of experience with Big Data technologies or concepts, such as analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, business intelligence, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance or scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.
  • 10 years of experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data.
  • 10 years of experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

In this role, you will assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the Product Marketing Management and Engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

As a Sales Engineer, you will work with Technical Sales teams as a networking subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$263,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support local Sales teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engage customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle.
  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Take responsibility for leading technical projects, including such activities as technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments. Travel as required for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
