Head of Strategic Partner Development, Labs, Tech and Society

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or JD.
  • 3 years of experience managing people or teams.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, interpret legal documents, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical and product concepts.
  • Ability to work in fast-moving, collaborative, and ambiguous start-up like environments where thoughtfulness, an entrepreneurial mindset, persistent execution, and relationships drive success.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Research and Core Partnerships leads partnerships that enable innovative research, solve fundamental problems in technology at scale, and use AI to solve the challenges. We drive partnerships across the arc of innovation from early stage research, to proof-of-concept, to scale.

As the Head of Labs and Tech and Society Partnerships, you'll enable early-stage research and product explorations via strategic partnerships with a wide range of partners. You and your team will be responsible for defining partnerships strategies, building partner pipelines, driving ecosystem engagement, and managing relationships with key partner Executives. You will establish formal agreements with these partners for product testing, custom collaborations, and product distribution. You will work across multiple Product Areas at Google including Research, Google DeepMind, Platforms and Devices, and Cloud and cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, gTech, Finance, Legal) to bring complex agreements to fruition.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and execute partnerships strategies for AI product and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Researchers, Legal, Finance, etc.) to influence product and GTM strategies.
  • Oversee and negotiate complex partnerships, develop scalable models, and maintain key external partner relationships.
  • Develop and optimize systems for managing a growing set of partnerships, improving efficiency and experience.
  • Lead the Labs and Tech and Society Partnerships team, a high-performing, global team that manages partnerships across a complex product portfolio.
