Policy Specialist, Google Play, Android, CWS Policies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns with working on technology issues or related policy environments.
  • 7 years of experience in working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
  • 5 years of experience in Policy, Operations, Legal or Product, with executing operational, product quality, developer experience or user-happiness/protection goals.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with mobile ecosystems including developers.
  • Experience in working on end-to-end policy development.
  • Experience with managing evidence/data-based policies.

About the job

In this role, you will help work toward the goal by developing and implementing policies and by protecting the online safety of users. You will be responsible for developing and launching new policies and serving as policy experts on cross-functional teams. You will collaborate with stakeholders to work to gain consensus on important, cross-functional policy issues. You will develop content and behavioral policies, support training and escalations after product launches, and build expertise in areas like inappropriate content, privacy, and security. You will lead and drive global, cross-functional initiatives including developing and launching new policies and serving as the policy expert for the cross-functional teams such as Product, Operations, Engineering, Developer Relations, Business Development, Public Relations, and Legal. You will leverage your investigative, policy, leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support and execute Play and Android Policy strategy, identify needs and improve processes.
  • Drive a global policy strategy for Privacy, Security, and Content, engage with stakeholders across Google Play and Android to identify emerging policy needs.
  • Identify and analyze abuse trends, gaps, and opportunities across products including emerging regulatory and innovation trends to design policy solutions.
  • Partner with Operations to develop, evaluate, and improve enforcement processes and guidelines.
  • Identify and address policy issues that affect Google, develop and execute policy campaigns and strategy, and collaborate with business-area leadership, Legal, Marketing, Trust and Safety, and Public Relation to launch policy-friendly products that benefit users and the business.
