Learning Science Specialist

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience as an instructor, in curriculum development, or as a professional educator (in K12 or higher education).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and business leadership stakeholders.
  • Experience with instructional design or learning science principles and processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in learning theory, with experience as an educator or tutor across multiple subjects and grade levels.
  • Experience building, advising, or working on education technology products that leverage generative AI (genAI).
  • Experience conducting original learning science research, including literature reviews and synthesizing findings on learning best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks to assess tool quality or learning impact for a range of learners.
  • Experience collaborating on learning assets like course content, job aids, and facilitator guides.
  • Experience launching training programs and coaching or designing professional development for educators.

In this role, you will shape consumer-facing learning features in Google's primary products. You will contribute to defining how generative AI (genAI) is utilized by learners globally, ensuring these features facilitate impactful learning experiences. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the quality of genAI tools.
  • Conduct literature reviews and share results of foundational research on best practices for learning.
  • Consult with product development teams (including novel products) throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Contribute to learning science team discussions and learning sessions about learning science principles, the future of learning, and how genAI can shape better outcomes for all learners.
