Principal Range Engineer, Mandiant

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in information security and engineering, working with cloud-based infrastructure environments.
  • 6 years of experience with identity and access management with tech stacks, enterprise architecture and cloud architecture with one cloud platform.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience deploying, operating, and configuring Windows, Linux, Firewalls and Routers, and scripting with a language such as Bash, Python or PowerShell.
  • 3 years of experience architecting in the cloud.
  • Experience with virtualization (e.g., Proxmox, Qemu, VMware).
  • Experience designing operationally resilient systems, implementing effective disaster recovery strategies.
  • Understanding of implementing and tuning cyber security tools (e.g., SIEM, Proxy, AV, EDR, DLP, Forensics, CSPM) and architecture documentation.

ThreatSpace is an immersive educational experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) provided by Mandiant Consulting that allows incident response teams to hone their skills against realistic APT-level attacks in a consequence-free environment.

In this role, you will be a cyber range engineer who helps shape the future of realistic environments used for cyber security testing, training, assessments, and tool development. You will be highly motivated, direct, proactive, and good at problem solving, with excellent communication skills and a solid technical background. You will work closely with internal and external customers to design, build, test, and maintain the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cyber range.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $164,000-$243,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design and architect cloud systems for offensive and defensive testing and training.
  • Ensure the security tools are properly set up and configured.
  • Ensure user emulation properly models user behaviors.
  • Ensure the range is architected for the execution of scenarios.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with open communication that spans across functional teams.
