Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience leading the negotiation of bespoke technology agreements.
- Experience advising business clients on English contract and related law.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading the negotiation of Cloud and IT services agreements, software licenses, custom development agreements, intellectual property assignments etc.
- Experience directly supporting and advising enterprise business teams across several jurisdictions.
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional legal projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to work separately and collaboratively within a team and manage multiple agreements and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.

As an integrated part of the team, you proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.As a part of the Cloud Legal team, you will serve as a commercial counsel to support the EMEA Cloud Global Strategic Initiatives business in structuring, drafting and negotiating Cloud's most strategic partnerships and complex agreements. You will work with the business team in structuring bespoke agreements establishing multi-year partnerships and industry transformations with customers. You will work on a variety of legal issues such as innovative forms of custom development engagements, IP ownership provisions in the context of generative AI, monetisation and go-to-market plans, and alliance governance mechanisms. You will work with cross-functional global business and legal teams to bring innovative collaborations to life.
Responsibilities
- Structure and lead the negotiation of agreements with customers and partners across EMEA, often involving multi-year, multi-Product Area partnerships and industry transformation.
- Serve as a 'go-to' legal subject matter expert for executives and business leaders, providing pragmatic advice on high-impact issues and balancing significant legal risk with business goals.
- Build effective relationships with critical stakeholders across relevant functions and product areas.
- Lead necessary escalations and proactively influence and drive consensus among executive cross-functional stakeholders on sensitive legal matters.
