Senior Software Engineering Manager, YouTube Music Integrations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 8 years of experience in a technical leadership role, managing engineering teams.
  • 4 years of experience managing managers and leading layered engineering organizations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures and algorithms
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams from scratch, in a geographically distributed environment.
  • Experience working with a consumer product, ideally mobile product or hardware adjacent product.
  • Experience leading the development of large-scale, consumer-facing or business-facing platforms.
  • Experience in guiding improvements in quality through data-motivated approaches and automation.
  • Knowledge of product development, from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the technical goal and strategy for the YTM integrations including different verticals on different platforms, aligning with overall YouTube Music (YTM) integration goals.
  • Architect and oversee the development, scalable systems, tools and processes for first-party and second-party integrations. Promote a culture of excellence and innovation across a team.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery and maintenance of first-party and second-party YTM integrations, optimizing for quality, cost-efficiency and scalability. Drive the execution and delivery of roadmap and the overall Integrated Daily Active Devices (IDAD) metric growth goals.
  • Manage partnerships with cross-functional teams across YouTube and YTM.
  • Establish metrics and monitoring systems to ensure platform health, integrations quality, and business performance.
