Global Transportation and Sustainability Leader, Google Cloud Logistics

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation management.
  • 10 years of experience managing global transportation networks, freight budgets, and carrier/ third-party logistics relationships.
  • 10 years of experience managing remote leaders, optimizing transportation modes, and establishing performance metrics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • 13 years of experience building relationships with stakeholders or clients.
  • 13 years of experience in problem-solving, third-party vendor relationships, user documentation, and user training.
  • 13 years of experience in managing vendor and outsourced providers.
  • Knowledge of SQL, analytics and Operations Six Sigma certification (or other relevant operations coursework).

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to co-ordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a part of the Global Transportation and Sustainability Leader, you will be responsible for the operational excellence and direction of a high-velocity global transportation network. You will manage a network of over 4,000 shipment lanes across three major modes and govern a global freight spend exceeding $2.0B, with a core mandate to achieve significant cost efficiency and avoidance. In this role, you will deliver a comprehensive Global Transportation and Sustainability Strategy, including driving the organization’s sustainability roadmap by reducing emissions, implementing strategies to shift high-volume logistics corridors to lower-emission modes without sacrificing delivery speed, and transitioning procurement processes to dynamic indexing models. You will also oversee major enterprise software migrations to ensure zero operational disruptions.The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $211,000-$294,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence by managing a high-velocity global transportation network, governing a $2.0B+ freight spend, and maintaining high on-time performance for ~2,000 daily shipments.
  • Lead sustainability strategy by driving emission reductions through transitioning high-volume logistics corridors to lower-emission modes without sacrificing delivery speed.
  • Optimize systems and procurement by transitioning procurement to dynamic indexing models and oversee zero-disruption enterprise software migrations.
  • Resolve cross-functional goal conflicts through governance frameworks, and implement automated data reliability and predictive risk tools.
  • Develop talent by formalizing "Ready-Now" succession plans and fostering an environment of psychological safety and growth.
