Hardware System Validation Lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g.,Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in a technical environment related to hardware systems, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading hardware validation efforts.
  • Experience in design validation for hardware systems, including developing and executing test plans.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • 10 years of experience with consumer product development and validation.
  • Experience validating imaging related products incorporating technologies (e.g.,spanning cameras, optics, lighting, displays, etc).
  • Experience in building cross-functional relationships with teams spanning Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Technical Engineering, Silicon, Software and external vendors to drive project execution.
  • Understanding of communication interfaces (e.g.,I2C, USB, SPI, PCIe, MIPI) and related test strategies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive validation test plans for Project Starline systems, focusing on functional performance, thermal/power efficiency, and long-term reliability.
  • Design and implement scalable validation test infrastructure, including hardware fixtures, software frameworks, and automation tools to ensure seamless testing processes.
  • Analyze validation data to identify root causes of issues, and propose actionable improvements for product design and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to review test plans, analyze data, and enhance validation strategies.
  • Mentor and guide system validation engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence across the team.
