About the job

At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As a Group Product Manager, you will be part of the Google Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) team. You will be responsible for defining, executing, and launching features that enhance our customers ability to protect their critical data and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) native workloads (GCE VM, CSQL, AlloyDB, GCS, BigQ). You will work closely with Engineering, UX, Sales, Support, and other Google Cloud product teams to understand customer needs, market dynamics, and technical capabilities to deliver a backup and DR service for GCP native workloads.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Help define the product or feature direction for specific areas within backup and DR, aligning with the overall product and Google Cloud strategy. Use evidence-based and data-informed arguments to support product decisions.
  • Own and drive the life cycle of multiple features within the scope of the broader backup and DR product (i.e., planning, prioritizing, and executing project work, with shared accountability for project outcomes).
  • Develop a deep, data-informed understanding of user needs, market trends, and the engaged landscape in the backup, disaster recovery, and data protection space. Gather customer feedback and translate it into actionable product requirements.
  • Work effectively across cross-functional teams, including Engineering, UX Design, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, and other Google Cloud product teams (e.g., compute engine, cloud storage, VMware engine).
