Public Affairs Manager, Regional Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in public affairs.
  • Experience working on political communications, or technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, private sector, or relevant industry associations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and executing strategies to deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Experience working in Public Affairs within West Texas.
  • Experience working with public policy teams and a variety of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and areas for improvement, and to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time as needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and political/communication skills.

The Public Affairs team is responsible for building Google's reputation and presence among key decision-makers and in the markets where we operate. We create strategic, scalable solutions that deliver authentic impact. As the Public Affairs Manager, you will be on the front lines of this effort, acting as a strategic advisor who shapes our data center initiatives to align with local and state priorities. You will be a leader, identifying and maximizing partnership opportunities with local institutions to effectively tell the story of Google's commitment and long-term investment.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the data center life-cycle in existing and future data center markets through strategic public affairs strategies and ongoing stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain critical relationships with government officials, community leaders, and key opinion formers to ensure a positive and sustainable operating environment for our facilities.
  • Manage complex public affairs campaigns across multiple states, ensuring a cohesive and impactful strategy.
  • Collaborate with a broad set of internal and external partners to bring projects from concept to completion, upholding the standards of the organization.
  • Serve as a key ambassador by amplifying Google's economic, energy, sustainability, and social contributions with key stakeholders.
