About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

Google Data Centers (GDC) is building an exceptional Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program to support its growth. As part of the Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management team, you will support EHS programs, ensuring compliance and safety in data center operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address EHS issues, protecting Google's interests. You will also lead and oversee new EHS initiatives, contributing to a "Google-Great" EHS program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage environmental, health, and safety programs to mitigate risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement. Oversee budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of EHS regulations and permits. Conduct assessments and implement programs to ensure ongoing compliance and proactively address potential risks.
  • Advocate and foster Safety Culture, and compliance through effective communication, collaboration, and training. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to promote EHS best practices.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate EHS risks, analyzing potential impacts and implementing preventative measures. Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide EHS guidance and oversight to operational teams, including construction projects. Monitor performance, advise on best practices, and ensure compliance throughout project lifecycles.
