Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience working across Product teams, Product Operations and Strategy, HR, or Consulting.
  • 10 years of experience managing teams, with experience in global organizations.
  • Experience working with Engineering or Operations teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience executing complex strategic and operational initiatives in organizations with a high level of change and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Ability to re-imagine user experiences and design products in an AI-first environment.
  • Ability to manage changing specifications or standards, and to create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills that drive executional impact.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, strategic, and analytical skills, with excellent business acumen.

About the job

As the Director of Integrated Journeys for Critical Talent, you will be responsible for the full end-to-end user journey for critical talent including the entire lifecycle of any products or services that will be built or heavily improved in service of the journeys, overall roadmaps for the journeys, and engagement with key stakeholders and partners across People Operations (POps) and Google Leadership. Most importantly, you will ensure all of the component parts of the journeys are fully integrated ensuring a more cohesive end user experience.

This is a leadership role at the intersection of Human Resources, Strategic Product Operations, and Artificial Intelligence. As the Director of Critical User Journeys (CUJs), you will be a chief architect of the future of the employee experience at Google.

In this role, you will own the strategic blueprint for high-priority CUJs across the entire employee lifecycle—from hire to retire. Your core mission is to partner with Product teams to shape the product roadmap and ensure operational readiness and maximized impact for all new and optimized HR products. You will function as an executive-level product strategist and operational integrator for the human experience, translating operational complexity into simple, intuitive, and AI-enabled solutions delivered through our product portfolio.

Additionally, you will be a leader who thinks like a product portfolio manager, combining an understanding of product principles, operational excellence, and organizational change to deliver measurable value and elevate the entire employee experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$356,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of Journey Leads assigned to building new products or optimizing existing ones. Define, prioritize, and own the outlook and strategic roadmap for a portfolio of Critical User Journeys.
  • Partner with POps Product Owners and Engineering teams to scope, design, and optimize HR products. Enable Product teams through agile product development approach, leading sprints and ceremonies to drive speed and high quality of execution.
  • Establish operating models to design and develop POps products, launch them through go-to-market strategies, and activate feedback loops to maximize impact. Cultivate and own strategic cross-functional relationships at executive level with HR Engineering, UX, People Analytics, and product owners.
  • Serve as a thought leader for Google’s HR organization, working across functions to provide a consistent narrative and identify key touch-points to cascade, including team forums, summits, etc.
