Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in program or project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for executive audiences to convey complex information clearly and succinctly through presentations, written communications, and verbal articulation.
  • Project management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Experience partnering with senior executives in People Operations and the business.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google Public Sector (GPS) is a Google division that focuses on helping U.S. public sector institutions—including federal, state, and local governments, and educational institutions—accelerate their digital transformations. GPS provides a full complement of business functions and capabilities, including specialized sales, customer engineering, customer success and services, customer support, channel and partner programs, compliance, and security operations, so that our U.S. public sector customers can leverage the full range of technology offerings from Google Cloud.

We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $111000 - $160000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of HR initiatives (e.g., GRAD Lifecycle, Succession Planning, Organization Effectiveness, other HR projects as needed) from initial scoping to final rollout.
  • Partner with Lead People Partners to drive BU-critical projects and support the implementation of an organization's people plan.
  • Support large-scale organizational changes, compensation adjustments, and level strategy revisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR tools and processes, ensuring they scale effectively across the organization.  Compile and analyze data and create reports related to special HR & Talent projects (e.g., Job Architecture, and Performance) with minimal guidance.
  • Manage headcount to ensure allocation is aligned with growth targets and hiring details in the Headcount App to serve as a guardrail to hiring managers. Resolve day-to-day HCM issues and serve as the point-of-contact for all issues concerning headcount allocations.
