Quantum Systems Test Engineer, Quantum AI

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with electrical testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or signal generators.
  • 1 year of experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting.
  • 1 year of experience with programming languages such as Shell, Python, C++, Matlab, or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to and collaborating within a shared codebase.
  • Experience with electrical design principles.
  • Experience with radio frequency or analog components and probable failure modes.
  • Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals.

About the job

As a Quantum Systems Test Engineer, you will maintain the reliability of critical room temperature and cryogenic testing equipment, such as benchtop test jigs and custom electronics. You will develop and execute test procedures, including the creation of new tests for emerging parts and processes. You will diagnose and resolve failures identified through comprehensive system and sub-component testing.The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,000-$133,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define, specify, communicate, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and thermal test fixturing for component, sub-assembly, and system testing.
  • Troubleshoot electrical measurement and networking communication tests.
  • Work with software and hardware teams to assure test and yield data is traceable and accessible for informed decision making.
  • Work with hardware teams to perform root cause analysis on components and subsystems.
