Test Engineering Manager, Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of coding experience on automation, debugging and triage.
  • Experience building automation test-beds for testing Embedded devices with iOS and Android.
  • Experience setting up Continuous integration (CI) tests for embedded systems, focusing on power, thermal, and performance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with modem connectivity testing and setting up test platforms for the same.
  • Experience with connectivity technologies like Bluetooth, wifi, etc.
  • Knowledge of systems design and embedded systems.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and performance reviewer of a growing local full time staff. Provide technical guidance and expertise to the rest of the team. Set technical goals regarding platform roadmap.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with globally distributed test engineering peers, engineering (Software, Hardware, Silicone) counterparts, program and business stakeholders.
  • Design and develop scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks for testing embedded hardware devices. Drive to improve software QA processes and methodologies.
  • Own a technical area of Pixel System Power and Performance Testing and deliver polished automation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot Pixel Hardware and Software system related issues, identify the root cause and work proactively to prevent it. Conceptualize and drive the implementation of advanced tools for improving Pixel Devices and Services Product quality.
