Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with SAP ABAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes such as ordering, subscription management, invoicing, or business recognition.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in an environment closely collaborating with multi-site engineering teams.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. Google Cloud Business Platform's (GCBP) Finance teams enable Google Cloud's growth by delivering and managing seamless, scalable, and efficient Order-to-Cash systems and processes.
Google Cloud's scale and the variety of its offerings create unique and complex challenges in this space. This requires innovative solutions blending Google's own first-party systems and third-party enterprise systems like SAP. The team collaborates cross-functionally with Google Cloud's Ordering and Finance users and teams within GCBP. This team offers an opportunity to work on business-critical transformations that have a direct and significant impact on Google Cloud's success.
As an Application Engineer, you will drive key technical solutions in Ordering and Finance. You will have an opportunity to build partnerships with these business teams, understand their needs, and ensure our Order-to-Cash (O2C) systems and solutions, including SAP, provide support for their critical operations. This includes providing technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, bridging communication gaps, coordinating technical efforts across time zones, and representing the team's technical capabilities and decisions to on-site partners including supporting business users during program launches.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for Google Cloud's use cases using SAP, ensuring close alignment and continuous collaboration with geographically distributed engineering team members.
- Lead the end-to-end design, develop, and deliver complex use cases with pragmatic solutions and while resolving technical challenges.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members, fostering a cohesive and high-performing engineering culture.
- Cultivate partnerships and communication channels between local stakeholders and the distributed engineering team, proactively bridging potential gaps.
- Serve as the on-site engineering point of contact for Cloud Order-to-Cash systems, engaging with local business users, Product Managers. Act as a key technical representative for the team on-site, making informed decisions, ensuring alignment with the broader team, and supporting the users through various program launches.
