Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years work experience in a partner-facing role at a technology company, start-up, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience in agreement negotiation, partner management or product management in an Internet or technology environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

As a Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, you will be a relationship builder that grows in a fast-paced environment, successfully navigates internal Google processes, products, and teams, and revels in managing complex and strategically important partnerships for Google. You will manage or deepen relationships with partners, execute agreements, and track impact, enabling Google to be successful. You will possess strong skills in relationship-building, negotiation, project management, and collaboration.

In this role, you will empower and enable Project teams by understanding their mission, identifying partners, initiating relationships, negotiating agreements and serving as a strategic resource to advance the research work and product launches. You will focus on supporting the Research EMEA team working mainly but not limited to education and health research projects. You will participate in early stage product development and work alongside research scientists and product managers to realize product goals through external partner development.The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with multiple high-stakes partners/suppliers as a key contributor to drive a broader partner strategy. Drive end-to-end partner experience to ensure agreement integration, including pitching to partners and resolving issues.
  • Contribute to the identification, creation, negotiation, and implementation of effective business development agreements (e.g., licensing technology and content, collaborative research agreements, Inbound Services Agreement (ISA)/Statement of Work (SOW)).
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders/teams to drive the best partner experience and ensure product excellence.
  • Drive partner strategy, including new partners and opportunity prospecting. Proactively identify ways to grow business in the ecosystem, including setting up new partnerships or pivoting existing ones.
  • Influence across the team and with Product, Engineering, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to align resources and direction for partner initiatives.
