With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

As an Software Development Manager for Service Orchestration, you will lead the team responsible for the fundamental fabric that connects and invokes services across Google Cloud. You will oversee a product suite—including Eventarc, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Tasks, and Cloud Scheduler—enabling 1P, 2P, and 3P developers to build reliable, massive-scale applications that leverage Google, custom, and third-party services. You will own the strategy, partnering with PM's to evolve our portfolio toward a unified, next-generation platform. You will empower your team to solve complex integration issues, drive operational excellence, and shape the future of distributed execution and resiliency.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 216,000-221,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage directly a team of software developers by providing coaching, setting expectations, and managing performance while leading hiring efforts to scale the team.
  • Own the technical roadmap and execute long-term strategies in partnership with executive leads to simplify and modernize the core.
  • Collaborate with Product and Development peers to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), author 1-pagers, and guide the execution of long-term business goals.
  • Approve team design and launch docs for technical readiness, ensuring all projects are optimized and meet high development standards.
  • Identify opportunities to decrease developer toil while increasing overall team velocity, efficiency, and job satisfaction.
