Minimum qualifications:

- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in Data Acquisition, Web Applications, User Experience, Enterprise Applications, Flume, Data Processing, Navigating Ambiguity, C++.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the OTT Media Platform team, you will work across the YouTube stack to build infrastructure, features, tooling, and processes to enable MediaCos to onboard and bring their content to YouTube. That includes development in YouTube studio, internal tools, quality systems, content infrastructure, and metrics and dashboards.

- Develop back-end services and data systems (largely in C++).
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Offline batch pipelines for both publishing data to indexing systems and processing petascale logs from YouTube data warehouses.
- Partner with data scientists in writing SQL queries and Python scripts for deep data analysis, and co-development with full-stack Engineer teams in facilitating feature/experiment launches and conducting end-to-end logging instrumentation.
- Work closely with cross functional teams including Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Product Management, Business Operations Management, Marketing, etc.
