Strategic Sourcing Manager, OEM, Hardware and System Integration

  • Experience in managing OEM partnerships and system integrators.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML, hybrid cloud, or edge compute programs.
  • Experience sourcing for cloud, hyperscale, or AI infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability, ESG, and supplier initiatives.
  • Understanding of AI/ML hardware (e.g., GPUs, ASICs, accelerators, high-speed networking).

Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) extends Google’s infrastructure and services to customer data centers, edge locations, and hybrid environments.

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will lead sourcing and supplier strategy for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) hardware and system integration partners that enables scalable, secure, and sustainable distributed cloud deployments. You will drive the sourcing life-cycle from supplier selection and commercial agreements to hardware life-cycle management and regional integration capacity ensuring that Google’s distributed infrastructure can scale efficiently across cloud, edge, and AI workloads.

This role blends commercial acumen, technical depth, and strategic influence, working closely with Hardware Engineering, Product Management, GDC Supply Chain Operations, and Legal teams to deliver infrastructure solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own global sourcing strategy for OEM compute, networking, and storage hardware, optimizing for performance, scalability, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Develop multi-year category strategies for OEMs and system integrators supporting GDC deployments, discussing commercial frameworks, capacity commitments to secure supply and cost advantage across the regional rollout.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to influence design-for-supply (DfS) and hardware standardization, while leading engagement with system integrators to define rack integration, testing, burn-in, and logistics orchestration models.
  • Scale integration capacity in North America, EMEA, and APAC to support GDC deployments across enterprise, and public-sector customers, building resilient models that balance cost, lead time, and regional regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Hardware Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), GDC Technical Program Management (TPM), and GDC Supply Chain Operations to align supply readiness with product roadmap milestones.
