Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
- Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in the mobile industry's ecosystem, products, and services (e.g., voice and messaging technologies, devices and device architecture, mobile networks, and communications platforms).
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional partnership initiatives with a significant impact on business outcomes.
- Experience negotiating and influencing, including securing favorable terms and building consensus.
- Excellent skills in communicating, presenting to, and influencing senior executives.
About the job
As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.
Android and Business Communications (ABC) has a mission to help end users and businesses meaningfully connect on any device across messaging through our Google Messages and Google Phone app. ABC is the organization that supports consumer mobile communications and connectivity apps, services, and infrastructure. The ABC Product Carrier and Product Partnerships team is responsible for managing strategic partnerships and business development activities with mobile operators and OEMs globally to execute on ABC’s product strategy. Our team works in close collaboration with partner engineering, product management, engineering, and the Android carrier partnerships team.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Manage mobile operator partner relationships in North America, in collaboration with partner executives and cross-functional teams across Go-to-Market, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Marketing and Finance.
- Work in concert with the Android Carrier Partnerships team across North America to ensure ABC OKRs are alongside Android and Google objectives.
- Develop efforts with Carriers and other ecosystem partners in North America to drive awareness, distribution and growth for Google’s communications products and services.
- Drive and execute action plans for distribution of Google Messages app, working with Mobile carriers executives, Marketing, Legal, Product and Sales team.
- Become an expert on mobile networks and third-party distribution channels, co-marketing deals and strategic partnerships.
