Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, Higher Education

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, management consulting or investment banking, with experience in education or education technology.
  • 2 years of experience working in Higher Education or with Higher Education institutions in a partnerships, sales or management consulting role.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing partnerships.
  • Understanding of AI.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

As a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead you will build and execute a partnership strategy that results in the adoption of Gemini for Education in the top universities and colleges around the world. Equipped with your business acumen and knowledge of education and technology, you will drive Google's work with Higher Education institutions, NGOs, consortiums, and other education technology companies.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Establish deep, strategic partnerships with 3- 5 academic institutions per region, with the primary objective of driving meaningful adoption of Gemini for teaching, learning, and research. Develop and nurture a rich ecosystem of education technology partners and research to accelerate and embed Gemini adoption.
  • Unify partnership and sales strategies across Gemini for Education, Cloud, and Product Areas to show up as One Google with a compelling narrative to our university partners.
  • Negotiate and close agreements for AI products and services with higher education partners.
  • Act as a executive leader and advocate for Gemini in the global academic community, building strong relationships with university leadership.
  • Serve as a voice providing partner feedback to shape the product roadmap and creating the playbook for scaling Gemini adoption and establishing it as the leading AI platform for Higher Education.
