Staff Content Designer and Model UX Writer, Google Fi

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as managing content strategy projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
  • 7 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • Experience in content design for wireless network providers, e-commerce, retail businesses, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience training and tuning large language models or other generative AI technologies.
  • Experience in conversational AI, voice, text, and multi-modal interfaces.
  • Experience developing AI-driven prototypes.

About the job

As a Content designer and Model UX writer, you'll join a team working across a massive surface area that touches everything from our Google Fi Wireless and Pixel Care+ services, to our online Google Store, retail stores, the My Pixel mobile app, as well as the broader ecosystem of retail and wireless partners working with Google.

In this role, you'll shape product experiences through a user-centered lens while driving impact on critical business goals. You'll be responsible for demonstrating how content design leads to tangible results in end-to-end journeys and conversational AI experiences alike. We view this role as essential to our devices and services product strategy, requiring a designer who grow on the responsibility of moving the needle through their work.

Google Fi Wireless leverages the best of Google to deliver simple and secure mobile connectivity. Our team is responsible for the entire subscriber journey, from plan selection and device activation to providing award-winning coverage around the world. Our team's deep expertise spans cellular network operations, iOS and Android app development, and subscription business operations.

The Fi team applies Google's AI to solve complex, real-world problems - from AI-enhanced call audio to AI billing summaries to AI-powered cohort analysis - that helps Google Fi customers stay reliably connected to what’s most important to them.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and direct content design to scale writing, content, and design.
  • Drive alignment efforts across product boundaries to create cohesion, driving scalable frameworks, design systems, and design patterns to address issues.
  • Apply voice and tone principles with formality and enthusiasm for situations, communicating technical concepts.
  • Translate product roadmaps into narratives and strategies that resonate with cross-functional partners, influence stakeholders, and align leadership.
  • Drive the behavior of artificial intelligence (AI) models by establishing model training practices, writing content, and evaluating response quality.
